Harrell powder measure

Post by A jones »

Hi all

I was looking at purchasing a harrell powder measure for loading my 6mm dasher

Currently I am using a rcbs chargemaster but the process is slow when loading heaps of rounds for varmiting or steel shooting

My question is what are they like will they throw accurate charges ?

Witch model would you reccomend ?

Thanks

Hi mate , for close up bechrest 100m to 200m work eg hunting , the Harrells is fine . But I found myself for f class throwing low charges then trickling the rest which was painfull . The thrower just wasn't accurate enough!

I'm quite happy with my chargemaster and wouldn't have survived the last couple of weeks without it !

In short my Harrells is gathering dust , even with hunting rounds ! Regards Graham.

I've got one. It's the middle version so it will throw a broader range of charge weights. I like it and for a manual throwing powder measure probably one of the nicest but like was said previously for my F-Class guns I weigh all my charges. I will say 50% of the time it throws the weight I need but the rest of the time the charge weight will vary about .2-3 grains on average.

How you operate the lever and you have to tap the lever when you lower to make sure any extra powder drops. If you don't that's when you see the variance.

Like the RCBS Chargemaster I use the Hornady version and like it a lot as well.

Use the money to buy a second chargemaster.

If you are seating while you wait for the next charge to dispense there usually isn't much time to wait on non magnum cases. If you like to pre "charge" all your cases BEFORE seating the chargemaster would seem slow.
