old BR style scope rings

Post by BATattack »

seeking some wisdom from the learned ones!

I've got a nice little older hall action with an unusual scope rail on top that I haven't seen before. It's similar profile to a picatinny but only around 16.5mm across the top from memory with no slots.

thinking it was probably fairly common in the days before going to kelbly and pic rails but it's one that I haven't come across before.

Once I figure out what the rail is I might have some hope of finding rings to suit!

Sorry but I can get my hands on it at the moment!

looks like a scaled down picatinny rail without slots.

I have a 1970 Anschutz which has a scope rail integral with the action and it is the same as a unslotted Weaver/Picatinny rail but, it is only 13 ml wide.
I had a Bushnell 4X scope on it which had a 10 ml integral rail, so, they used to make a long single piece block mount to marry the two together.
The front sight for many TR peeps have a 13 ml (approx.) block so could the old Hall action originally have been made for peeps?
I did get some scope rings to fit the Anschutz action when the original Bushnell scope got dropped and had to be replaced.
A check of mount suppliers would be a good starting point to find a set of rings which have the same size base as the Hall rail.

I noticed that Ned has this Stolle rail for sale.
Would this be similar to what you are looking for?

Maybe Ned could give you measurements and, it may fit the Hall??????

Yeah Richard it's a rifle that was part of that estate you and Stuart got some gear from.

I've got the hall action, stock 3x 6ppc barrels and a 22ppc barrel that a mate wants to have a crack at some foxes with the 22ppc barrel if we can round up enough bits to have a go!

its not a davidson/ kelbly rail or a CZ/ Bruno either. . . . it's got me stumped!
