Had a 6mm cactus ie 6mm - 257Wby used to run about 70 grains AR2214 and a Berger 105.
I found that the best barrel twist was 9 1/4 so Krieger was the option.
Barrel life was around the 700 mark
Lots of fun though

ooooowwww that would have been a screamer! I currently have a 257 wby mag and pushing 85gr ballistic tips at 3800pfs makes it very . . . . .effective but not exactly efficient!

I'd like to replace that with a 6.5mm with a bit less performance that I can use out of a rem short action and standard bolt face.
