Hornady ultra sonic cleaner

Post by Tim N »

Hi All,
I brought one of these last July(the stainless tank model) and after not too much use since then it died.
At a cost of near $400 there's no way I'd have purchased it if that's all you get out of them.(violin music playing softly in the back ground)
Being just outside the 12 month warranty the gunshop is seeing if anything can be done :?
What sort of life have others had from their ultrasonic cleaners?

Be a good test to see if Hornady look after you. I bought a 7 litre unit off eBay for about half what you paid and it is still going well after 3 years.
Now I've said that.... it will probably cark it. Some Chinese made stuff is ok apparently.

Tim,
I got myself a used Dental ultrasonic cleaner, the medical ones are built to last a bit longer. I hope Hornady look after U, although the cost of sending it back would probably deter the shop u purchased from.
Maybe an electronics Tech could fix it easily, & cheaper than sending it back, surely not much wrong with it.

The important thing is to be certain your local shop has contacted the importer they got the product from,if they are genuine, they will do something about it.

Hi All,
Good news!!
My local gun shop Arms and Ammo sent the faulty ultrasonic cleaner back to the importer who then gave a full credit for another one.
Considering it was a couple of months out of warrenty it's good to know some businesses still do what's fair and reasonable even if they don't legally have to.
