Wow! Lots of responses.
I run 2 barnards and switched to palmer brass at the beginning of the year. Never had a problem until Clermont opm. Switched to another batch and not 1 missfire. Unfortunately this is where i stuffed up and ended up with the dodgy batch coming back into use. Re-identified the problem batch (700 of the little suckers) and don't expect any more problems.
I am as certain its just that box. But i now run each rifle with different batches so if i have the same hic up its only on 1 gun,,,,, hopefully.

Tim,
If you are confident it is the fault of the primers, plant them back where they came from,if they are from a faulty batch, there is sure to be more of them around. If the retailers pass the complaints on to the importers, there is/should be,some chance of replacement .

I was reading this this morning and it seems I have fallen into the same trap myself. Since buying a decent primer tool I haven't had a problem with miss fires, and I use br2 and br4 in 4 different rifles.

Re: BR4 primer missfires
Had an issue with my 6BR but it was quickly resolved by reseating the primers m. Seems I hadn't seated them hard into the uniformed pockets and some were "jumping" upon primer stike. Zero problems since

Re: BR4 primer missfires
The best luck I've had was when I got arthritis in both thumbs so bad I couldn't use a standard primer seater (my Sinclair) with one hand for LR primers. In desperation, I bought a K & M with dial gauge & seat to .003 crush (http://kmshooting.com/primer-gauge.html), squeezing with both hands. Immediately my ESs shrunk to under 10 fps for all best loads & (contrary to scuttlebutt) I never have ignition issues with PMC Russian primers.

I also had troubles with a batch bought from a local store (Q) in my panda but was remedied by replacing the case head die in my primer seater ! All good now !

Re: BR4 primer missfires
So what is the conclusion,is it faulty primers,or primer seating malfunction,or a combination of both?

Re: BR4 primer missfires
Hi Mike , I think both and maybe weak springs! The batch people are talking about seemed to have thick primer cups ...maybe!

Wonder if they slipped in some Magnum cups, but then again, they're complaining Stateside about a bunch of CCI Magnums too.
