I have owned and used
Leupold LR 8.5-25
Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25
Leupold VX6 7-42
NF BR 8-32
NF NXS 12-42
NF Comp Gen I and Gen II
S&B 12-50
Swarovski - various Z5 and Z6
March 8-80 - just added! Reliable but forgettable!
I think that is about it? Getting old and memory fading?!
I have looked through a few Sightrons - never owned one so can't comment.
My current choice for F Class is the NF Comp Gen II which sit on 40X
This is on clarity and mirage rendition plus early days but reliability seems ok?
Reticle is not what I require - tried to talk with NF but no avail.
Waiting for Swarovski to make a 40X X5 - with suitable reticle could be THE best!
Also have a new Vortex on order to asses but will probably be late this year before available?
As of a week ago there were 2500 back ordered in the USA
Cheers
Shane

Struth ! Hi Shane , wow that's a list ! I have a vortex in mils of coarse on my edge and it's just as good as my NF but maybe not as rugged . That's why they maybe in such hi demand! Do you sell Sightrons?
Also Tim thanks for ur input ! Good luck in ur developement squad too! ( I'm pretty sure ur in one too!).
Re: Your Thoughts on Sightron Rilfe scopes please ?
Had 2 sightrons, they held zero fine and adjusted fine, but the best thing I ever did was buy a NF comp with the FCR reticle from Dave and Shane at CRM. Set it at 40x and its great. Optical quality its better than sightron.

Thanks Brad for your back up
Graham, the best value for money is the NF Gen II currently.
The clarity and detail available in mirage is better than any other scope I have used.
Therefore for the price they still represent value.
Bottom line - it is worth extra points if there is mirage there to be read!
The new Vortex will be cheaper but possibly not by much?
Optics and tracking will need to be proven.
The NF Comp II is head and shoulders optically above the NXS which has an edge on a NF BR.
Also the NF Comp II is better than any March - and I used the 8-80 for a few years. Had 2 of them.
Reliable trackers but very ordinary clarity.
Whatever people say they are impossible to use at 80 power - image goes to black!
A great marketing tool though! I freely admit that the March purchase was a result of me being sucked in by the Internet hype. One of the few times I have been gullible and believed the initial noise.
Also recently had a FFP March for about 6 months on my second rifle.
The best March I have used is a 5-50 Dave Mac has lent me for a few shoots.
Also still have a 2.5-25 but that is a 1/4 clicker and poor low light performance.
I work my scopes much harder than a target shooter does.
Mine get used up until dark on rabbits which camo into the ground / grass.
So I am confident that I am qualified to comment on these optics.
Rather than some of the usual style comments such as " I own brand x and it is great"
I own brand x and it is the best because it costs the most" or - "my mate has brand y and he says it is fantastic"!!
I usually refrain from getting into this type of discussion because one can never really "win" by doing so.
I have on this occasion because we know each other and have enjoyed shooting together.
Possibly it may have been best to PM all this to you?
Anyway - here goes I will post it anyway

Hi Shane , how's Kevie going ? Haha! I really appreciate and respect ur opinion ! I will always remember that without any question at the last Nats . You let me use ur march on my gun ! Running around like a headless chook trying to get it fitted and sighted in ; the bell didn't clear my barrel but the rest is history! I was going to ring u today but work got in the way! I'm really appreciative how a number of My comrades have come together to loan a scope to me . I not about to tell the whole story as its private . But I wail say that there are some really good people in this sport !
With some great family things happening in my life this year ( daughter getting married) and then unexpectedly making the first cut for the worlds which caught me out a bit ( a lot).
The good news is that because of people's generosity ( u know who u r db,jr), I can still partake and save up for that next gen NF , so that is the way I might go!
Thanks Shane for ur comment and everyone else . If ur are on the developement squad for the worlds next year . I wish u good luck and we are going to have a really decent team!
Regards Graham Sells Dalby/ Tara!
