Eliseo recoil pad (previously posted in 'For sale/WTB')

Post by Southern700 »

Just bought an Eliseo R1 stock (Pierce action, Pac-nor barrel) and it came with the standard aluminium butt plate.
I have seen that there is a recoil pad available which "snaps over" the existing plate. Does anyone have or have any info on where I could get my hands on one.

The unit is working out very good, though I may develop a bit of a nervous twitch Due to the lack of padding. Moving from 223 to 308 has been a re-learning experience.

Note: recoil pad must match the baby blue glitter paint job on the stock

My Eliseo stock came with a machined aluminium but plate which I milled flat and attached a Limbsaver pad.
Way more comfortable to shoot.
I'm guessing yours is the same.

I've done good work with high density foam contact glued on & shaped with several of my rifles.

Thanks for the descriptive comment Nathan, though I doubt I'll find a Sparkly Smurf blue recoil pad. =D> =D>

I am now bringing glitter and fixative spray up to the range after the teams match...

To the 'HELPFUL' contributors...
...thanks for the ideas.

Maybe a pachmayr recoil pad could be milled out (NATHAN) to fit the existing pad profile and then glued.

Update: Was forwarded an email from Gary Eliseo (via a very helpful Phoenix Trading) about suggested options for a pad:
"...it's a modified Tapco pad, I trim the flaps off with a razor blade and drill a hole to access the adjustment screw."
I've ordered an alternate, and will add further comment once received and fitted (could be a while - this is AusPost I'm dealing with)... :-?

Dealing wit Aust. Post. Ordered a recoil pad from Midway. Four days after ordering arrived at Aust Post Sydney, en-route to Edmonton N.Q. 15 days after leaving Sydney it arrived. Good luck.
Cheers,
Trevor.

It's disappointing when Auspost drops the ball this side of the pond. I've had similar experiences like this. Sometimes Customs are extremely slow too.

Hi Trev, do Midway ship to Australia now? Last time I checked was a few years ago and they wouldn't. I thought at the stage that they must have been affiliated with shooters.com.au.

Hi Dennis,
They posted it after I e/mailed them that their on/line order system would not accept my address. Gave it to them by e/mail and over it came.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Got the new pad today (3 weeks isn't bad from China). Had a little trouble fitting it as it was about 5mm too short. Should be better than bare aluminium though.
