Cci magnum primers v standard

Post by SuperV »

Ok for a long time I was using cci 400 in my Palma brass. Then I went to cci 450 magnum. Question I have had anyone done a test to see how much of a change in velocity the 450 gives.

Pico,

The velocity change will vary from load to load, from all my primer tests I have seen that magnum primers in palma brass result in higher SD ES figures, I currently run federal 205GMM with my current load, but have found the bog standard 205's work better with some powders.

Magnum primer doesn't necessary mean more power(velocity) I can just refer to it has a thicker cup

On accurateshooter some have found some batches of BR4's were hotter than 450's. From memory the rem 7.5 was also shown as producing a larger reaction than the 450. Never had an issue with 450's or BR4's in any BR or Palma case application.
