Ok we have to use a bronze brush,right? Is it dry,is it wet,is it covered with a lapping paste?it would be very helpful if we'd have a bit more details from people who know!

Keith , years ago , there was a product made, for carbon removal that smelt like Phenyle , I think it was produced by an ,
Australian gun maker , did it work ? just a point of interest , and yes , it was black, Chop

You didn't actually, your response amused me!!!! At the outset I said that I have outlined more than once how I feel (based on 40 years of experience) that carbon removal should be carried out. So rather than me going through it again, please search the archives!!!

Keith, sounds like we are in agreement that brushing is needed :)

2 questions ?

1 Can bronze brushing damage the stainless steel of my hummer barrel ? Looks like there is no choice .....
2. Do variations in the amount of carbon in the bore (OK I accept no carbon is the ideal) cause velocity changes in the barrel?
