Hi there
I have a 6.5x47 and I use 140gn projectiles which are very good. Some time ago I couldn't get 140gn,so I got 130gn VLD.If you guys can help me with any reloaning data,it'd be appreciated.
Cheers

I started out using 123gr Lapua Scenars and A-Maxs (using 2208) then settled on 130gr Berger which IMO is the optimum for the cartridge.
Excellent results with 123gr Scenars but gave no advantage over my 6mmBR.

Lapua cases (mmm what are the choices), CCI BR primers, 130gr Berger tipped and bare. 5 thou in. (Also tried 130gr JLKs but haven't progressed these to a conclusion.)

Went from:
130gr Berger loads
38.8gr VV N140 - poor groups
41.5gr 2209 - haven't recorded in my notebook why I didn't continue with 2209. Will be in target shot records.
38.0gr to 38.3gr Reloder 15 - great groups, smallish ES, good velocity. Still could do more with this though. Moved on to a 284 :D
Success with RL15 is a mixed blessing due to availabilty.Fortunately I have a sustantial quantity. None on the shelves (NZ) at my local at present.

Peter,

I use 40gn 2209 with 140 Hybrids jumped.

I use 39.6gn 2209 with 130 VLD jambed.

Hope that helps. Both fired in the same barrel.

Yeah, for the 130VLD's jam them 10thou and load between 39-40gr of 2209, working in .2gr increments.

130gr Berger group shot with 2209. 3 shot group so hardly conclusive but promising never the less. Never finished my development of my 6.5x47 - now resides in the back of the safe a bit unloved.

I ran 2208 in mine with 130 vld's. It shot better than the reloader 15. I went up to 37.5gr of 2208 that was safe in my rifle.

I didn't chrono that load. From other guys running similar loads it would be up around 2950-2980. I'll revisit it once my new rifles are built.

37.5gr of 2208 jammed 0.010 works a treat in my Maddco.

Very similar load to the guys above for me in 2 barrels. Try jamming (around 10 thou) and run a ladder starting at 36.5 (2208) up and watch for pressure signs. I will be very surprised if something doesn't scream there.

Played with a new Bartlein on the weekend.

There is a node in there between 37.5 and 37.7 of 2208. Very similar to my Maddco but it looks like 37.7 is the go in this barrel!
