Finally took my new diopter 50300-0 Diopter 0.0x to the range today, my rifle has a 30mm front tunnel and a .5 eagle eye, dialling the diopter in it is possible to see every blemish on the front ring, however at this setting the target is not distinguishable, dialling further you can make the target the focus, the trick seems to be to find a happy medium where the ring is dominate.
The real eye opener was that I had to increase the ring size a full mm, maybe more but I did not have any larger sizes with me. This puts me up to the sizes that I was always told that I should be shooting at but could never control.
Eighteen months ago I put the TR stock away and have been shooting FC because my scores headed south due to not being able to acquire a sight picture, shooting three ranges today I feel that things have changed.
My scores were not over the top, but 95% where lost in vertical(low) from me not holding the rifle correctly, but the groups tightened as the day went on and it is my feeling that time behind the rifle will allow the old muscles to become more relaxed.
You should not think of this lense in the same sence as the magnifing diopter but as an adjustable corrective lense(no magnification).
The future looks good, will update later

How is the future looking after last weekend?
Do you think the lense helped you in the horrible conditions (mirage) at the Long ranges at the Rosedale OPM?
Second place in the daily Agg was pretty awesome.

The weekend was quite a surprise, the lens does not solve all my problems, if you look at Saturdays scores you will see that I am still a bit unsteady and had trouble reading the easterly wind (same as a lot of other people)

The westerly on Sunday was moving around but I thought it was more readable. The 1000 was a bit uncomfortable before my turn as I watched good shooters get hammered to low 40s and mid 30 scores, however when I layed down I thought the mirage looked to be the dominate indicator and shot of it. Every shot I moved no more than 1/2 a minute, but moved on every shot. The lens does not allow me to see through the mirage but allows me to achieve a repeatable sight picture. I thought that I may have got a dream run but when looking across the boards, other shooters who shot at the same time did not get the same luck.

Time will tell if this was a once off outcome, next competition will be at Easter, so I will get a bit of practice before then and try again.

If you read all of the write up on Sinclairs regarding the aos sight, they state that you should have at least a 33" sight radius and to turn the rear iris to 1.5 of which they claim gives the best results.I also have been gradually getting sighting problems seems to be an old bugga's problem. If these work and for the price which is far cheaper than the Gehmann certainly could be worth trying, so is there anyone out there that have found them to work ????

ok an update I still use my Gehmann aos and there's two types one is the one to suit small bore rifles, But I got onto another supplier in the USA who sells a shorter sight radius version to suit ar15's and M14's these are perfect and suit a 26 inch barrel and are here. also I have been using the Gehmann 0.0 diopta and bought another as they are really great to use, you need to adjust it till you just have the target and front sight in focus, NO it's not perfect but it's dam close.

Hi all
If I fitted a #579 with it's adjustable dioptre, would that then mean the use of a .05 EE would be illegal with in the TR rules?
