Lyman Crusher 2 Press : Users Opinions

Post by tom1 »

Looking at upgrading my reloading press. Presently have a Simplex 6 Turret press. What is the good and bad of the Lyman Crusher 2 . Will be used to reload 223 & 308
Thanks for any input.

Haven’t seen one myself (I use a Rock Chuker or a Summit when I’m not using an arbour press, which I do 95% of my loading on) but here is almost every commercial press reviewed! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqcYI0G2hqM

Thanks for that interesting video Looks like the RCBS Rockchucker comes out as the best value for money.

Heard some really had things about the cheap Smart Reloader presses breaking.
I recently bought a Lee Classic Cast and it does all I want pretty well.

Thanks for the input , seems that I wont go wrong with a quality press from the major brands. RCBS, Lee, Lyman , MEC, Redding.

That's pretty much it, there isn't much to a press. Up to a point bigger dollars means closer tolerances but then you start paying for colour / brand name. If you have a couple of K spare you could always go a Lenzi  but its worth remembering that money can't always buy you supers [-o<

The rockchucker has a bush to accept larger dies while the Lyman crusher doesn't. Is this a must have addition ?
UL1700 I don't have a couple of K to drop on a press, would never get that past the treasurer !!

I think that if you are at the point of purchasing Lenzi Presses you really do have everything plus unlimited funds as you always need barrels and consumables!
