Covid purchases...

Post by Tim N »

Hi All
During this shut down period what has your attention been diverted to??
I’ve updated the Ute and more importantly been surfing the net on shooting related stuff and now have an FX Dreamline 22 cal (pcp air gun) on the way, and a compressor- no powder required so I can feel good about my carbon footprint.
Any hoo what have you damaged the credit card with during the shut down ???
I will admit the shutdown hasn’t changed much for me apart from no shooting on the range, the weird looks and people keeping their distance was happening before so no changes there.
Hope you’re all keeping well and hope to see you on a range sooner rather than later!

I bought a bass guitar and amp to learn how to play during the downtime. Hung it on the wall then the shooting started again so it's still hanging there.

New bikes for my kids.
Bike racks so I can take the kids new bikes away with the camper trailer.

Hopefully I’ll get a nice new bike for my 40th in November :D

What is a turbo Barra?
The dirt bike comment reminds me - I got one of those things too.
My youngest son announced his interest in getting one, to which Sweetypie suggested I get one as well 8) she’s a good girl

Yeh I'd go with that, buy an air rifle to offset the carbon foot print on your new 400hp 15L/100 Dodge RAM. :D :D

Hi Tim. It’s a ford Australia designed and built inline six that came out in all b series and fg and fgx falcons. Also came out in all ford territories. With the turbo and supporting mods , they can easily put out 500 rwhp . Which is what I’m aiming for in my wife’s Territory
We’ve owned since new and my wife loves it ! Didn’t want to sell it ! So thought since we are keeping it . We shall do up the mighty Barra ! “ Barra the World “ !! Of course she won’t be driving it around with that much power. It will have a G-Force 111 boost controller and just be on 7 psi wastegate spring. I’ve pulled a wrecker fresh FG NA pulled it apart. Ported the head and it flows 283 cfm on the intakes some 30 cfm more over stock . I’ve bought the 3 r 23 aa turbo rods and f6 pistons and turbo exhaust valves . So it will be a turbo Barra that will be capable of 600 plus rwhp on e 85 but we will never go there ! I’ve bought and recored a Gt 3576 turbo 1.06 ar exhaust so possibly 500 rwhp is the limit . Oops I’m gabbing on again lol!
Anyway could just go bang too on the dyno yet ! Shall see ! [-o< [-o<

I ended up with this. Wasn't sure about the stock, but it's surprising comfortable and quite nice to shoot.

It took me a while to get used to the appearance of chassis’s, but I’ve been very impressed with the adjustability and utility of them, and just ease of tuning too, bit cold on a winters morning though, I’d hate to use one in snow country
