SPL (Special Purpose Lubricant)

Post by richmac »

Hi All
I have noticed that there is a new product out in America called SPL ( Special Purpose Lubricant)
It claims to get rid of barrel fouling and it is a bullet lube and not messy and dirty like Moly.
I have asked in the Long Range Forum about this and it is available.I am trying to find out who is the agent for it in Australia?
The forum states that they send it to Oz and New Zealand.
There is also a article about it in The Australian Shooter magazine, page 75.
I would like to give it a try,if any of the forum know where to get it here in OZ, please let me know.
Many Thanks
Rich

The point I am making is that the UK Team does not use any of this so called magic poop.

They used hand loaded ammo in Canada, and you can bet there would be bugger all moly bullets.

In Brisbane 2005(Aust Match) none of the Aust/UK Teams had moly bullets.

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with moly.

However,if the leading Teams are not using it,or any of these other magic curealls, one must ask the question?

By all means try it and anything else if you wish.

However, look at the winners, and ask what are they using.

In 1995 in NZ,I was given a very very similar product by one of the US guys.It turned out to be a heavily based teflon product.

It had all the Mil Specs and was supposed to clean, repel, fart and fix coughs colds and sore bum holes.

The best thing you could do with it was to lubricate a tight thread on a bolt.
