Hello all,
Some sad news from North Queensland today. Peter Smith passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon after a lengthy illness. Peter was a humble but very accomplished F-Open shooter and engineer/scientist who made a valuable contribution to our sport, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Rest in peace Peter.
One of Peter's close friends will forward funeral details when known.

Peter Smith, a great man and a lovable excentric, happily sharing his genius with his fellow shooters.
Rest well Peter

Very sorry too hear that, I never actually got to meet him face to face, but he was always very helpful.
An exceedingly generous man with common sense and engineering skills.
He will definitely be missed.

Very sad, a man with a huge knowledge of all things F Class shooting. When Peter spoke one should listen, he was a quiet unassuming man never loud or overbearing. We are diminished, vale Peter Smith.

Thank you everyone.
On the day I met Peter, one of his friends told me "He has forgotten more about shooting than most of us will ever know".
20 years down the track and I will add another "He contributed more to our sport than most will ever know."
I hope one day we can put something together in fitting memory of Peter and his contributions to this great sport from welcoming beginners to working tirelessly with the State and Australian teams to bring us all to the next level.
There is a big hole in the shooting community up here that can never be filled.
The funeral is at 11:00am EST Thursday 10th April.
