Use of non approved projectiles to win Queen's.

During the 2010 matches in Brisbane, Australia, Bryan became the first American to win the prestigious Queen's Prize Match. Going in to the last day of the match, Bryan was in 60th place (out of 185 shooters). "The 900 and 1000 yard
strings were fired on the last day and the wind was heavy frorn the left. Using the Berger 155.5 grain FULLBORE bullets, I was able to make up the 60 places and win the toumament by a single V-bull. Being the first American to win the Queen's Prize was the experience of a lifetime and a tremendous honor"

Bryan shot a .308 Palma Rilfe, built on a Barnard action, Mastin offset stock, Warner rear sight, and Stallings front sight. He shot Applied Ballistics FULLBORE ammunition, which uses Berger 30 cal 155.5 gr Fullbore bullets and Lapua cases.

Just found this on Berger Bullets website. Correct me if I am wrong but 155.5 grain Berger's are NOT yet approved projectiles. Maybe this is worth NRAA investigation ???

I seem to recall that the 2010 & 2011 Queens were contested according to ICFRA equipment rules in deference to those championships being hosted here in 2011. Might be worthwhile checking that out too.

John is correct. Because the world championships were on, the NRAA used ICFRA rules. Otherwise there would have been an awlful lot of upset International shooters.

Thanks for clearing that up guy's. Was fairly sure that a top line shooter like Bryan would not be breaking the rules.

All this confusion is why so many are moving to F Open.....

Or just using whatever they want .........

Anyways F Open is better for me ... I need a bigger BC because my wind reading skills are crap

we do already once a year we swap and have TR + F Class team match great fun but it takes my elbows 3 months to recover :lol:

i pull out the 303 once a year and that is enough peep sights for me.
