Reamer makers
Im ordering a 284S reamer for myself and courtz and my preferred maker has indicated a lead time of 6 months- cutting it a bit fine if Im going to have a 7mm for tassie.
PT&G have always been hard to get ahold of, but thier online store says it takes only 6 weeks for a custom reamer build. Has anyone had any contact with them recently that might confirm this? Looks like they will send to Aus again finally too.
And finally can anyone just confirm that 0.318 will be ok for a no turn neck?

try JGS which have a lot of no turn reamers on the shelf but don't know about a Shehane - almost certainly have a straight 284. From what I have heard they are very good quality.
With PT&G I have just been charged for a reamer (so think it is in the post) that I ordered on 16th April so not too bad.

I was thinking the same Matt, but Courtz has ordered dies already and with the wealth of info available here on the 284 and 284S it seems a logical step to take. Improving the cases I thought eased up on case pressure helping them last a little longer. Not trying to push for 3000fps, just a standard 2800-2900 is what Im after with the 180's.
I think they are all great - thats why I have one/some of each (+some RSAUM barrels)
. Really anything in this case capacity region hasl proved extremely accurate.
My thoughts now are I would lean on 284/284Shehane if barrel life is your priority. and the 280AI/RSAUM if you want slightly more punch (although they can be loaded back anyway). I actually love them all!!!
