Barnard ejector

Post by SuperV »

I'm wondering if its possible to put a ejector into a bolt that hasn't got one.

You haven't said why you desire an ejector but if it is any consolation my last Barnard action was supplied with an ejector - I removed it pretty soon after it went into service and went back to the old remove case with fingers. The Barnard ejector is a little under nourished IMOP and using an ejector saves little time if any whilst shooting plus I don't like my brass falling about on the ground even if it is landing on a clean ground sheet.

I ordered a Barnard without ejector, but got one regardless and promptly removed it. Some shooters are quite skilled at catching ejected cases, which may be quicker than manually extracting.

I love Barnard's ejector, it does not throw the case into the next country & I catch them about a foot to the right of the trigger/bolt handle. This is with both .308 & .280. In my opinion they work as well as a target rifle ejector should work. One of my Barnard's does not have an ejector & I intend to remedy that with the next rebarrel!

Ha ha I used to do that with my old Omark - caught the case mid air at the same time already dropping my head to the spotting scope. Don't know how I used to do it - all in the subconscious.
