Bore Scope

Post by shooter mcreid »

I'm currently saving for a hawkeye however with the price and the aussie dollar its getting very expensive.
through a club mate I have noticed James is now stocking a scope:

has anyone got one, used one or can add any information about them?
any comments will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Setford borescope, I have looked through the Hawkeye just last week to compare, though I'm not qualified to judge which is best, i couldn't see much difference if any looking through either. Peter imports them from China I believe. I just use mine for after cleaning inspections and it does the job for me.
Remember, mine is just a straight, where as the Hawkeye has options for the angled eye piece which is easier to use.

Thanks for the reply Geoff. As it is 500mm long im guessing the angled eyepiece may not be needed.

Hi Geoff
Do you find that the eye piece fouls on the stock at all or do you find it long enough that the straight eye piece isn't that big a problem?

Brent,
I only use for the first 100mm of barrel, yes your head may contact the stock but I don't have any issues with it even looking further down the barrel. My cheek pieces on my stocks aren't high so no problems and it's no different to a cleaning rod going in there.
