Bartlein vs Krieger 7mm

Post by bshrestha01 »

So I ordered a 30" 5R 1:9 Krieger barrel from 7mm.com.au on Friday and received it today in NSW that was one fast delivery and extremely happy with it.

Except, what I received was a Bartlein. Same specs in #9V profile, but a Bartlein.

I believe they are the same price but should I be worrying about it or should I be worrying about finding the dies and cases for them?

PS: I am looking at .284WIN.

You will be fine with that barrel, both Bartlein & Krieger are fine barrels, as are several other barrels.

Hi bshrestha01,

Replied to your email last night, completely my fault, Read twice deliver once. Happy to swap at my cost for delivery / postage etc. Sorry for the mix up.

Let me know what you would like to do.

Kind Regards

Craig McGowan.

bshrestha01,

FWIW I am up to my 8th Krieger, and my last two barrels have been Bartleins, which in my experience are every bit as good. Bartleins have been the barrel of choice at the top level of international F-Class for several years now.

I'll take the Krieger only if I can keep the Bartlein as well...

More seriously though, After the feedback from Kieth and Alan, I don't think I want to impose it on you. I was looking to set this new rifle for the NSW Queens and I still have to find the brass and dies.

I am new to this whole rebarreling thing and all I have rebarrelled so far is using a Maddco which works like a charm. I can try Krieger for my next caliber or next rebarrelling if I can't get this Bartlein to work for me.

PS: If you sell .284 dies and brass, can you let me know?

Thanks

The bartline is gonna be just as good or better! I think you should be pretty happy with the mix up :-)
