Hi there
I am looking at having a 6.5 x 47 lapua chambered
Has anyone got any information on if neck turning is required?
Any information on improving the cartridge ?

Neck turning depends on the specs of your gunsmiths reamer- discuss if it will need turning with him.
As for improving it- you can either get it rechambered to 260AI or 6.5x284 if you want more velocity. There is nothing to be gained trying to improve the 6.5x47L. Its a great caliber but like anything there is no replacement for displacement if you try to push hard.

Hi brad,
My gunsmith hasn't got a reamer yet. He will buy a reamer to cater for myself.
Is there any benefit in neck turning to cases?

It depends on what your willing to do and how anal you are. No turn neck chambers are fine I think as there are other parts of reloading that are more crucial to successful F class accuracy. But there are people who like to turn so they can run a certain neck clearance or clear up any thick parts of the case neck. After doing it for years with different cals, I dont neck turn anymore on my 6BR or 284 shehane.
