223 Rem Favourite Load Varmnit/Target

Hi guys
Had a rush of blood over the holidays and put a deposit on a new Sako 85 Varmint SS 1 in 8 twist. I thought I might do some range work with it in F Standard and also use it for rabbit/fox hunting.

For range work I was thinking of using 70 or 80 gn Bergers and either 2206H or 2208 and perhaps 55 grn Nosler ballistic tips for hunting - Just wanted to see if anyone out there has used a combination of these or have their own pet loads for FS and Hunting ?

You've probably got it sorted by now but I used to run 55gr vmax on top of 24.9grains of BM2 but bought a bulk lot of 55gr sierra roo's and run them on top of 25.5gr BM2. The sierra's aren't as 'spectacular' as the vmax's but dead is dead and both shoot around 3/4moa out of my stevens 200 with a boyds thumbhole stock (and I can't shoot for s#!t)

I have the same rifle and I use 55 noslers with either 26.5 of 8208 or 27.5 re15. Both of those are over max so start low and work up. Without throating to suit the 70's or 80's you will loose a lot of case capacity.

Chris is right, I have a Tikka 223 1:8t ( same barrel ) for heavies, i use the Nosler CC 77 's which are designed for mag length, i load them out further then mag length, they shoot great over 2208/BR4's
Im in the middle of test 75gr AMax's over 2206, shoots ok so far, but early days

Sorry but have you guys tried 2206H and if how much to do use and with what projectiles?
