Sightron SIII or Nightforce BR

Post by alscol71 »

Hi Guys,

Ive come down to two scopes as my choice for a starter in F Class.

Sightron SIII or Nightforce BR

What are your thoughts cause when i looked through both i couldnt really tell any difference in clarity.

My decisions on these as the two options is based on funds available.

Thanks in Advance

Hi Mate, nobody's helping you!
So I didn't end up buying a sightron but I looked At them very hard and it would have been my next choice. I really liked the MOA rectile and turrets 1/8 Moa ( thinks it's 10 Moa / turn) on the sightron.
I like Nightforce but don't like the turrets and the focal objective of the BR . The glass in the sightron is very clear from the ones I looked through . Good budget scope!
The viper Pst is very good too but only 24x . But honestly it's rare to shoot on 40x or up as the conditions have to very good or it just gets lost in the mirage .

If that's what you thought then go with the Sightron. Optical clarity is just about the only advantage of the NF BR. The Sightron is easier to use in several respects, and no less reliable.

I have 2 sightrons (10-50) and a march 10-60
I'm happy using the sightrons as much as the march
If possible I prefer using them on max power
The only gripe I have as stated before is the size of the turrets which are a lot bigger than the march
My preference is for uncluttered crosshairs so look thru a few types before buying.

Nightforce NPR style crosshairs. Gives you an extra measuring tool. Clear image.Solid build
Some sightrons have terrible parallax thats hard to null out
