Automatic powder scales.

Im up for a new set of scales and am considering buying an automatic type powder scale like a RCBS charge-master lite, or a .001g manual scientific scale.
Is anyone getting good results in F class using an auto scale? or should I spend my money on a good .001g scientific scale?

Don't waste your money on the auto type scales. IMO not good enough for F Class, hunting yes long range precision NO !!!
Either a set of beam scales or FX300 or similar.

I have the auto tricker attached to a set of a&d fx320 scales. It's a great system repeatability is very good with most powders. Some there's maybe a .02-.1g overthrow. I wouldn't discount the Lyman gen 6 though. There's a few shooters here in wa solely using them and it seems to do them no harm.

I use a Chargemaster to throw a load 0.1 lower than I need, then I put the pan onto an and D fx300i and add what is needed. The Chargmaster is ok, but if you want to win forget it you need at least an A and D. You can mess about with ebay 200 dollar scales and they are ok, but in the long run they will drive you mad. Spend the money and do it right from the start you wont regret it.

Yeah, ditto, ChargeMaster for initial throw and then on to the Fx300i. Having the AnD has highlighted the wide band of weight you get when the CM stops and although I set mine to 0.1 under it will somtimes give my final Fx300i aim weight without indicating an overweight.
Used to use a Little Dandy tricker to finish off on the AnD but don't bother nowadays, just use a tea spoon and count the kernels required onto it.

I use the FX 300 scales with a powder thrower for the initial charge and an electric trickler to add the last few kernels of powder, also have a pen handy to tap a single kernel off the trickler.
This can be a surprisingly quick operation with practice.
I'd imagine using a thrower is quicker than the chargemaster?

I use a shitty thrower then trickle with the auto trickler on the a and a scales, very quick and easy.
