SEB NEO maintenance

Post by Peterla »

Hi All

I have one of those great SEB NEO's that has served me really well for about 4 years
I have just removed the bags and the top plate to see so much dust and dirt in there that I think it needs a clean and regrease.
Looking at SEB Youtube recodings it looks like the front bearing is glued to the shaft then Loctite is applied to hold the front bearing in.
There is a front grub screw that is used to apply pressure to that bearing for the handle turning tension

Has anyone knocked the shaft and front bearing out so I can get the plates out to clean and regrease.
I do not want to stuff mine up and looking for some advice on how to dismantle the internals for a nice maintenance

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Pete

Thanks, Richard
Jason called me back last night and now I know how to service my SEB rest.
It came out really well and now is a smooth as silk like new again.
If you shoot in dusty environments like we do in SA best you do this every year or 2 to keep the rest in good conditions.

Good talking to you Pete!!

Always happy to help anyone, my contact details are not hard to find.

I am also happy to service the rests myself and carry a bunch of spares, a lot of people are not comfortable stopping them down.

Jase....
